Privacy policy
Last updated November 2, 2026
This policy explains what information appsbysam.com and the apps on its subdomains (together, the “apps”) collect, how it's used, and the choices you have. The apps are small, private tools used by invitation. We don't sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or tracking services.
Information we collect
- Your Google account basics. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture link. We never see your Google password.
- What you add to the apps. Anything you enter or upload, such as trips and bookings, collection records, wine notes, repair items, requests and comments, game scores, photos and documents.
- Access settings. Which apps you can use and your role in each.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically records basic request data, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To sign you in and give you access to the apps you've been invited to.
- To store, show and organize the information you add.
- To keep the apps secure, fix problems and prevent misuse.
- To contact you about your access or about changes to these policies, if needed.
Who can see your information
- You, and people you share with. In some apps your name and what you post are visible to other members of that app. For example, in the residents' app your name, unit and comments are visible to other residents.
- Share links. Some apps let you create a link to a single item, such as a trip or a game. Anyone with that link can view that item without signing in, until the link is turned off.
- The administrator. The site administrator can manage who has access and can see the information stored in the apps in order to run them.
Services we rely on
We use a few outside services to run the apps. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:
- Supabase stores the apps' data and files and handles sign-in.
- Vercel hosts the apps.
- Google provides sign-in and web fonts.
- Google Gemini reads wine label photos in the wine app to fill in details automatically. Those photos are sent to Google for processing, and Google may use them to improve its services.
- Map providers supply the map images shown in some apps.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. One sign-in cookie is shared across appsbysam.com and its subdomains, so you can move between apps without signing in again. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have access to the apps. If your access is removed or you ask us to delete your information, we'll delete it within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep something to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. Backups may take a little longer to clear.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete much of what you add directly in the apps.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and your account by emailing privacy [at] samsteffy [dot] com.
- You can disconnect the apps from your Google account at any time in your Google account's security settings.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections, stored with access controls so each person sees only what they're allowed to, and uploaded files are kept private unless shared. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
The apps aren't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll let people with access know.
